Earlier this year, I asked Mr. Schu if he'd mind if I copied his practice of curating the books he loves on Pinterest. Of course, he said yes, so... for awhile now, I've been quietly adding books of my heart to a board of 2024 releases. As I've been pinning books to this running list, I've also been thinking about what exactly constitutes "a book of my heart." To be sure, this is entirely subjective, but one thing I've noticed about the books I've loved most this year is that so many have featured a theme related to community. The more divided our world becomes, the more convinced I am that community is one (if not the) antidote to what ails us. With that in mind, I'm grateful for the reading communities that have held and inspired me this year.
All of that said, just as this is not my last post of the year, the board below undoubtedly hasn't seen its last update either. After all, as I write this, there's still a couple of weeks left in 2024 and I'm sure I'll read (and remember!) a few more books between now and the new year.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE...
The calendar may still say 2024, but my reading life has already jumped to 2025, so... here's my 2025 board, too.
PS: For those who are interested, Pinterest doesn't make it easy to embed boards in other sites, but I found this tool on Reddit that made short work of this task.
